Concrete Landscape Curbing in El Cajon & East County San Diego
Since 2014, licensed California C-27 contractor Burgio Landscape Services has installed custom concrete landscape curbing, decorative garden borders, and lawn edging throughout El Cajon and East County San Diego. California CSLB C-27 licensed landscape construction, precision geotechnical subgrades, and lasting craftsmanship.
Signature Architectural Curbing Profiles
Every linear foot is mixed, extruded, and hand-tooled on-site by our dedicated Uniformed In-House Crew. We never subcontract your yard.
Mower Edge Profile
Engineered with a low, flat front lip facing the lawn, our mower edge allows lawnmower wheels to glide directly along the concrete flange for a zero-clearance cut, completely eliminating string trimmer weed-whacking along lawn and planter boundaries.
Slant Style Profile
Sloped at a 45-degree angle toward the viewer, the slant style maximizes visible decorative surface area, specifically designed to showcase natural slate textures, brick stamps, and rich UV-stable integral color pigments across garden walkways.
High-Back / Commercial Profile
Providing maximum vertical containment height, our high-back curb stops heavy bark mulch, river rock ballast, and hillside soils from washing across walkways while functioning as an unyielding root barrier against invasive grasses.
Synthetic Turf Edge Locking
Perimeter transitions for synthetic turf installations benefit from a permanent anchor. Extruded concrete curbing locks artificial turf borders beneath a solid concrete lip to prevent lifting seams and weed intrusion over time.
Anti-Dig Dog Yard Borders
For dog runs and active pet lawns, our machine-extruded concrete borders extend 4 inches below grade, functioning as an unyielding anti-dig barrier paired with artificial grass for dogs to protect fence lines from clawing.
Paver Patio & Walkway Transitions
Seamlessly framing natural flagstone paths or custom interlocking paver patios, continuous concrete curbing locks aggregate base materials in place and provides crisp architectural separation.
East County Foothills: Bermuda Runner Infiltration & Slope Erosion
Real problems solved with engineered craftsmanship for East County homeowners.
East County Foothills: Bermuda Runner Infiltration & Slope Erosion
A hillside home off Tavern Road in Alpine suffered from invasive Bermuda grass runners choking out delicate native succulent beds. Previous plastic bender board edging had warped under summer sun, allowing decomposed granite and bark mulch to wash across paver walkways during winter rains.
Invasive Bermuda runners, failed plastic bender board, and severe mulch washout on hillside beds.
Graded a 10-inch trench bed, compacted decomposed granite base, and extruded 240 linear feet of high-tensile fiber-reinforced concrete curbing tinted with charcoal iron oxide, finished with slate stamp impressions, and cut with expansion joints every 3 feet.
The 4-inch subsurface concrete barrier created an impenetrable root block against Bermuda runners and permanently contained planter mulch on the upper terrace with zero maintenance.

"What a fantastic experience! Chris and his team came out and gave us a great design with wonderful execution. We specifically hired him to install concrete curbs which you think, 'How much of a difference could it really make?' A ton! It framed our yard, created definition and added value. Pictures will come when we finish with the turf!"
"Burgio Landscaping's work is over and above 5 stars, they are the best! Had my old worn out irrigation completely replaced, artificial turf and river rock added, and the icing on the cake is the beautiful cement curbing. Looks like paradise. The crew was on time every day, courteous, and cleaned up every afternoon. Special thanks to Ryan, Misha, and Tyler. The owner Chris was so easy going and accommodating."
"We highly recommend Chris Burgio Landscaping! He was professional, reasonably priced, shows up when expected and does a great job with design and finished product! Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers on materials, maintenance, and durability.
How long does continuous concrete landscape curbing last?
When properly mixed with 3,000+ PSI commercial compressive strength and polypropylene reinforcement fibers, continuous concrete curbing lasts 20 to 30+ years. Unlike wood bender boards that rot in 3 seasons or plastic edging that buckles in heat, concrete is permanent hardscaping.
Will the installation damage my existing lawn or garden beds?
No. Our commercial curbing machines are compact and self-propelled, allowing our crew to work precisely along existing garden beds without tearing up your lawn or damaging established plant root systems. We perform a complete daily site sweep-down upon project completion.
Can concrete curbing follow tight curves and custom shapes?
Yes. The primary advantage of our slip-form extrusion equipment is total design flexibility. Our crew can execute tight circular tree surrounds, sweeping organic curves, sharp 90-degree corners, or laser-straight property lines.
How many color and stamp options are available?
We offer over 30 integral UV-stable iron oxide color pigments ranging from warm earth tones and terracotta to charcoal slate. Surfaces can be hand-finished smooth, textured, or stamped with authentic slate, brick, or natural stone patterns.
